Professional Biography
Dr. Mills earned his Ph.D. in 2005 from George Mason University. He has a background in crisis intervention, forensic assessment and neuropsychology. Since 2011 he has worked extensively with first responders and military personnel, as well as their family members. He is part of the survey team for the National Wellness Survey for Public Safety Personnel, and he is completing national certification for providing services to first responders.
Dr. Mills works with adults and adolescents. He practices Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and is trained in specialty techniques for PTSD (Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Written Exposure Therapy) and sleep (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia). He is also experienced with diagnostic and psychological assessment. Dr. Mills brings acceptance and a sense of humor to the therapy relationship, as well as a pragmatic focus on helping you achieve the results that matter most to you. Outside of the office, he provides training and consulting to agencies and in academic settings.
