Professional Biography

Dr. Tom Mayer is board-certified in general psychiatry and board eligible in child and adolescent psychiatry. He graduated from medical school, general psychiatry residency, and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship from University of North Carolina. During training Dr. Mayer worked in a diverse set of clinical settings, developing experience with children, adolescents, and adults dealing with depression, anxiety, personality disorders, trauma disorders, and eating disorders. His child and adolescent training included experience with play therapy and parent therapy, allowing him to offer a range of treatments, in addition to medications, to address challenges.
