Professional Biography
Dr. McFarlane offers brief focused therapy or longer-term therapy and support as needed. Dr. McFarlane's theoretical framework includes cognitive behavioral and humanistic orientations. She engages in a therapeutic style that emphasizes flexibility, understanding the client in context, valuing multiple worldviews, and utilizing a broad repertoire of therapeutic interventions to meet the specific needs of each client. Throughout her career, Dr. McFarlane has been devoted to working with clients of various cultural, racial, religious, and affectional orientation backgrounds. She has a special interest in providing psychotherapy for women, older adolescents, and college students.
