Personal Statement
I believe that adjustment is promoted by understanding yourself, working on enhancing your strengths, and living in harmony with your beliefs. These are important components of a healthy life and good mental health. My therapy is generally educational in that it is focused on changing thoughts that lead to both problem behaviors and/or undesirable feelings. An important aspect of therapy is the development of self confidence. This is important because it takes confidence to make changes in behavioral patterns that are deeply ingrained and to take risks in life situations, including relationships.
