Specialties: Psychopharmacologic Therapy
Dr. Katie Wu sees her role as a psychiatrist as an opportunity to care for patients from a medical perspective but also with an eye towards the personal strengths that patients bring to treatment.
Dr. Wu describes her psychiatric practice as ever-evolving, dating back to the completion of medical school and residency at Duke University Medical Center in 1987, and continuing through to the present time.
Her interests include coming to understand individuals’ lives and the promotion of healing through a narrative lens, a growing appreciation of the role of neuroplasticity in cognition and behavioral change, and attention to the intertwining roles of mind, body and spirit for physical and emotional wellbeing.
While Dr. Wu is unable to accept new or returning clients to her practice, she is available for one-time consults for those interested. Dr. Wu is a participating provider with BCBS of NC.
