Professional Biography:

Dr. Hamilton has been in private practice since 1978. Prior to that she served as a psychologist at the Children’s Psychiatric Institute and as a part-time Clinical Professor in the School Psychology Program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has an eclectic orientation based on extensive training in a number of modalities including: Behavioral, Cognitive-Behavioral, Psychodynamic, Interpersonal, Strategic, IMAGO, Family Systems, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, and Hypnotherapy.

Personal Statement:

I am interested in working with clients who have disruptive personal and behavioral difficulties associated with abusive/neglectful backgrounds; clients who want to have more satisfying relationships and sex lives; those who have parenting issues; adult caregivers; clients who have Multiple Personality/Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome/Dissociative Disorders; and with the parents and teachers of Learning Disabled or Attention Deficit/Hyperactive disordered children.
